On the evening of Maureen & Trent's wedding, we snuck away at sunset for an intimate session in nature. An intentional, quiet moment for them to connect and ground in together before the magic that was to come. Married under a crescent moon, surrounded by their closest people, at the crystalline lake where they first fell in love.
“I was never the kind of person who dreamed of my ideal wedding as a kid. I never had a "dream dress" in mind, and I didn't have a curated Pinterest board to lean on as a guide for my goal aesthetic. I just knew I wanted to marry my best friend, and I wanted the tangible memories that only photographs provide.
I found my best friend -- ironically years before he became my fiancé, or husband. In a whirlwind of love, we were engaged, and after deciding against holding off on exchanging vows until post-Covid times, we weren't left with a ton of time for wedding planning. I didn't care about the flowers, or the dress (I found mine the week before our wedding) I had one stipulation — that we find a date that allowed for Olivia to be our photographer.
When I look back on our wedding, I wouldn't change a thing. It was an intimate lakeside wedding, in the Cascades, with 20 of our dearest family and friends. My mom, sister, aunt, mothers-in-law, and my closest girlfriends planned every detail; from lodging to food (my mom made everything but our cake!)
I have to say, Olivia was the "fairy godmother" of our wedding.
From our first meeting, Olivia made me feel SO at ease, heard, and understood. We didn't want your run-of-the-mill wedding photos; we wanted the vibrance of our love captured in a candid way. “Now that we've been married for seven months, we still daydream and reflect so warmly on the peace and incredible experiences of our honeymoon, and the joy of having our family and friends present to celebrate our love. The main thing we've continually expressed to one another is how happy we are that Olivia was the person to capture all the little moments that made up our wedding day, and the day leading up to it.
We have three daughters, ranging from 2-10, and Olivia was able to capture photos our family will cherish for years. As a mom, I was so impressed with the air of ease and skill she possessed. If you are looking for someone who can "read the room;" look no further. My husband is shy, and doesn't enjoy having his photo taken. Olivia eased his tensions and made him feel comfortable immediately, and the photos speak for themselves. She is the "fly on the wall," embodied. She directed us, at the exact moment either of us were silently pleading for just that, and the rest of the time, she just warmly watched and captured the moments exchanged.
We are forever grateful to have hired Olivia, and feel so hugely blessed to have every single photo she captured. We will treasure our wedding photos for years, and we will always circle back to Olivia, for any family photos in the future.
